Why do I need to book an appointment?

Please note our boutique is run by appointment only and therefore the store will not always be open if we do not have an appointment booked in so please do not just turn up without booking in, we would hate you to travel and be disappointed! Also if you are running late more than 15 minutes we have the right to cancel your appointment.

We want to be able to provide you with a personal service and therefore allocate you a free of charge 1.5 hour appointment with exclusive use of the boutique. Your appointment will be with a trained member of female staff will who be on hand at all times to help you try gowns on and advise you. We do not allow you try gowns on without the help of staff as this avoids damage to stock.

How many guests can I bring with me?

Choosing your dream dress is often an experience you wish to share with close friends and family. However we believe that by bringing too many people with you can lead to many different opinions, which may make it more difficult for to you to pick the perfect dress. We allow you the bride to bring along upto 3 adult guests max with you to your appointment. We offer free Wi-Fi and will be encouraging you to interact with family and friends that you couldn't bring along with you to your appointment virtually. Please note we do not allow children into the boutique - we appreciate that childcare can be difficult but from past experience we feel it's what works best for our boutique. We often find young ones can become distracted and need your attention when all the focus should be on you the bride choosing your dream dress. We have also had damage in the past and feel it's not worth the risk and don't have the space for pushchairs. Access to the shop is restricted so wheelchairs can be an issue but please discuss with us and we will do all we can to help. 

How far in advance should I purchase my dress?

Every bride is different but we find most brides start shopping for their dress around 12 months before their big day. We suggest that you do not book an appointment unless you are ready to purchase your gown as this helps avoid disappointment if you fall in love with a particular gown as all of our gowns are off-the-peg they don't stay in stock very long - once they are gone, they are gone!

Do you have adequete changing facilities?

We have a large private purpose built changing room and a dedicated viewing area out the front of the shop so you can view your gown and show your guests helping you to make an informed decision about the dresses you are trying on. The boutique has air conditoning.

Why are your gowns so cheap?

We have contacts in the wedding industry and are able to source new and ex-sample designer wedding dresses. All of our gowns are sold off-the-peg and priced under £1,250 all reduced from the original RRP. As we do not offer an ordering service or in-house fitting service this allows us to pass the savings directly onto you - perfect for any budget savvy bride! Please note your alteration costs are an additional charge to the dress price.

Do you offer in-house alterations?

No we don’t offer an in-house service, but we do have details of the very best independent local seamstresses for any alterations you may need. Click here to find out more. Please note alterations are not included in the price of the dress and will need to be paid for separately directly to your chosen seamstress.

Can I think about it before saying YES to the dress?

Of course you can! We will never push a bride into committing to a dress if she’s not ready to do so. The only important thing to remember is that because all of our gowns are sold as off-the-peg samples we do only have one of each dress in the boutique so if you don’t snap it up then someone else might. We can't promise how long it will stay around for so don’t take too long to decide to avoid dissapointment!

Can I see all of the dresses you stock before booking an appointment?

As our stock is sold off-the-peg and we only have one of each dress our stock changes frequently and it's impossible for us to keep our website updated with all of our current styles. However we do keep our social media platforms updated with our new stock arrivals. We always advise you to book an appointment and come and see for yourself our beautiful range of dresses as you need to try them on to see how they look on you - you often surprise yourself.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Buying your wedding dress should be the best bit of your wedding planning! Come with an open mind even if you have a particular style in mind, as we honestly believe until you try a dress on you don't know what it will look like on you - be honest with us and yourself and follow your heart. Every dress looks different when it is tried on so unless you already know what style suits you, be prepared to try different styles – that way you’ll know when you try on the perfect dress. Eliminating styles is just as important as finding the styles you like in the search for your perfect dress. 

Please bear your budget in mind when trying on gowns and be honest with us as we can help and suggest dresses within your price range. Also bear in mind alteration costs are additional to the dress price. 

Ideally come wearing a strapless bra / nude underwear to help get the best out of your fitting however don't worry too much as often when you go for your alterations you will have your bra fitted into the dress.

We keep all of dresses in top condition therefore personal hygiene is important. Please consider our staff and other customers, as we don't want to make people feel uneasy or put our dresses at risk. We also kindly ask you keep fake tan and makeup to a minimum to avoid damage to our dresses.

Do you sell prom, bridesmaids and mother of the bride dresses?

We are solely dedicated to the bride-to-be and making her look and feel fabulous for her big day therefore we only stock bridal gowns so unfortunately you won’t find any of the above in the boutique. There are some fabulous places we can recommend so please do ask us as we love to support other small local independent businesses. 

I am looking to sell my unworn / preloved wedding dress - do you buy them?

No we don't as we buy all of our wedding dresses on a wholesale basis to help keep prices as low as possible for our brides. If you’re looking to sell your wedding dress there are sites such as Still White dedicated to selling such items: www.stillwhite.co.uk

What payments do you accept?

We accept payment by most major debit / credit cards (excluding American Express) and Apple Pay. We can also take payment via the telephone and bank transfer. We also accept cash.

Terms & Conditions of Sale

Exchanges & Refunds 

We DO NOT offer exchanges or refunds on any of off-the-peg gowns as they are sold as seen at reduced outlet prices. Please ensure you are entirely happy with your dress at the time of purchase and fully aware that alterations are your responsibility. 

Reserving Items & Storage

All off-the-peg dresses come with a free storage bag and hanger. We offer the option to purchase a wedding dress storage box for an additonal £25. We do not allow you to reserve any of our off-the-peg gowns, shoes or any other bridal accessories. It is at your risk if you walk away and then later decide to come back for a dress as it may have sold. We do not have the facility to offer wedding dress storage. If you buy a dress from us it must be taken home with you at the time of purchase. You may be able to arrange storage with your chosen seamstress.

Sizes, Imperfections & Cleaning of Dresses

Our off-the-peg dresses are sold as seen and either new or ex-sample gowns and have only ever been tried on in-store, they are not pre-loved and never been worn for a wedding. It is the customers’ sole responsibility for purchasing a dress that does not fit and does so at their own risk. Some of our off-the-peg gowns may have slight defects or a minor degree of damage, most of which are repairable. These imperfections are reflected in our prices. Alteration costs required are the sole responsibility of the customer and Wedding Quarter will not be liable for any damages etc may these occur. This service is between the customer and the seamstress. We recommend highly talented seamstresses or you are welcome to find your own. Regardless of the care label on your dress we always recommend you seek professional dry cleaning advice if you wish to have your gown cleaned. This is not a service we offer Wedding Quarter will not be liable for any charges or damages may these occur. This service is between the customer and the dry cleaner who we can recommend to you.

Accessories

Display shoes, veils and accessories are sold as seen and cannot be exchanged or refunded. When ordering new shoes, veils or accessories we ask for payment in full. If a new ordered item is faulty we will arrange for a replacement item to be ordered - we need to be notified of any faults within 7 days of receiving the item. No style exchange on new ordered items except for shoe size swaps. Any items not collected from us within 3 months of ordering remain the property of Wedding Quarter and no refund will be given.

Here at Wedding Quarter we take the privacy of our brides and website visitors very seriously and are committed to keeping any data shared with us safe and secure.This privacy policy will provide information on when and why we collect your personal information, how it is used it and how we keep it secure. We may update this privacy policy by posting a new version on this website.

Appointment Data

When you book an appointment with us the information you provide (including your name, email address and mobile phone number) will be stored in our appointment system and used to send booking confirmations, reminders and follow up messages about your appointment. Please be assured that we will never share your personal details with any other company without your consent.

Google Analytics

When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies in a limited way to make interactive parts of the site (such as forms) more convenient to use, to identify unique browsers that visit us and to track usage.
